Failure to Attend & Late Cancellation Policy

At Lander Dental & Implant Clinic, we want to do our best to ensure that everyone has access to timely care. To minimise missed appointments and improve availability for our patients, we have implemented the following policy.

Failure to Attend

As a gesture of goodwill, there will be no charge for a patient’s first missed appointment. However, after the first instance, failing to attend a second or any subsequent appointment will result in a charge, and payment in advance will be required for all future appointments.

Late Cancellation

If you are unable to attend your appointment due to illness or another unforeseen circumstance, please contact the practice as soon as you become aware that you cannot attend.

We understand that circumstances can arise unexpectedly, and discretion will be used where there is a valid reason for an appointment being missed or cancelled.

A late cancellation charge will apply when a treatment appointment is cancelled within 48 hours of the appointment time (excluding weekends).

After the first instance, cancelling a second or any subsequent appointment within 48 hours will result in a charge of £70, or the applicable treatment cancellation fee outlined below. Payment in advance will also be required for all future appointments.

Late Cancellation & Failure to Attend Charges

15-minute appointment £55 charge

30-minute appointment: £70 charge

60-minute appointment: £140 charge

Please note that complex cases, such as dental implant treatment, may incur a higher cancellation fee in line with the value and complexity of the treatment.

Any future appointments that have been booked may be cancelled if the outstanding fee is not paid within two weeks.

Payment in Advance

If you have been charged a missed appointment or late cancellation fee, payment in advance will be required for all future appointments. If you do not attend an appointment for which payment has been made in advance, the full fee will be retained. A further payment will then be required if you wish to book another appointment.

If more than two appointments are missed, future appointments may not be offered, at the discretion of the practice.

This policy also applies where payment in advance is requested for new patients and reregistering patients.
