Nick Coley | BDS GDC Number 57269
Nick Coley qualified at Kings College Hospital Dental School in 1982. He has been at Lander since 1987, when he arrived from London to become a partner.
Always keen to improve his knowledge base he has attended numerous courses throughout his career both in the UK and abroad.
He has attended a number of year-long certificate courses at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London studying Restorative Dentistry, Periodontology, Material Science, Implantology and Advanced Implantology.
He has recently passed the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, which is recognised as a leading implant qualification worldwide.
He has attended the Malo Clinic in Lisbon where he studied the All on 4 technique with professor Paulo Malo who originally developed it.
He is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology and the International Team for Implantology both of which are rich sources of up to date knowledge in the field of Implantology.
Over the years he endeavoured to improve his knowledge and experience by working in environments outside General Practice.
He spent a number of years working part time in the Restorative Department at Derriford Hospital treating complex cases referred in by General Dental Practitioners and treating medically compromised patients unsuitable to treatment in the general practice environment. Here he developed a particular interest in periodontal surgery and treating severely worn and broken down dentitions.
He was, for a number of years a Clinical Tutor at Peninsula Dental School.
Nick has been placing implants for 18 years and has become increasingly focussed on this area of dentistry. To increase his experience he spent a number of years working part time in a practice limited to implant dentistry and has provided implant treatment in other practices in the Southwest.
He is able to provide all aspects of Implantology including Sinus Grafting, bone grafting and regeneration. He uses high quality implants, materials and works closely with excellent dental technicians. Our implant team are well trained and experienced and we have Cone Beam CT facilities in house to provide accurate and safe implant therapies.
Nick retired from partnership in 2016 and has gradually reduced his commitment to general dentistry at Lander to enable him to pursue his interest in Implantology and complex restorative cases.
Nick now lives over the border in Devon where he enjoys spending time with his family, dealing with an out of control garden and intermittent forays onto the river fly-fishing or more rarely the golf course.
